Alvah N. Belding Memorial Library

Ways to Give

Memorial gifts, Trusts, Library Endowment and more.

The Alvah N. Memorial Library provides several opportunities for the public to lend its financial support for the library. These opportunities encompass many benefits to both the library and the gifting donors.

MEMORIAL BOOK PLAN - Make a cash contribution in memory of the deceased or in honor of a special person or event. Items for the library will be chosen at your request and will have an identifying plate with donor and recipient information. Book memorials last longer than flowers and are a great way to honor a loved one, or recognize a special person in your life like a teacher, grandchild, or other. A letter of acknowledgement will be sent to the family of the deceased or to the honoree.

BEQUESTS - By remembering the library in your will, you will create a lasting memorial. As with the memorial book plan, you may request an area of support. (Real estate and other property may also be given as a bequest to the library). If you are considering a bequest, a meeting with the library board or director is advised.

APPRECIATED SECURITIES - Appreciated Securities are another way to give to the library, aside from cash. A gift of securities to the library may have tax advantages for the donor.

TRUST ARRANGEMENT - Charitable trusts offer the library the income of an asset for a specified number of years, or in perpetuity. If you are considering a trust for the library, a meeting with the library board or director is advised.

LIFE INSURANCE - Name the library as owner and beneficiary of a life insurance policy to make a substantial gift with a premium that is tax deductible.

LIBRARY ENDOWMENT - Gifts of $20,000 or more to a community foundation can be specified to establish an endowment for the Alvah N. Belding Memorial Library. If you are considering this type of gift, please contact the library board or director. Individual endowments may also be established to benehit the library.
