Youth Services @ ANBL
The Belding Library and Youth Services librarian, Cindy Hughes provides many opportunities for young library patrons and their families. Whether it is our ongoing programs for preschoolers and their parents or speciality programs like our annual Fancy Nancy Party, Lego Contest, Chess Tournament for Teens, or book discussions for high school students ANBL is the place to come for children's and teens programming.
The children's area of the library offers bright and open spaces for reading, playing with puppets or puzzles and a nice cozy spot by the fireplace with "chairs for two" for parents and children to enjoy a good book together. Our glass wall offers spectacular views of the Flat River and allows children the opportunity to see the many natural elements that the river provides.
We offer computers for kids that connect to the internet but wi
th filtering so there are none of the worries about exposure to undesirable sites. Another favorite with the our littlest patrons are the Early Literacy Stations. Purchased by the Friends of the Beldng library, these computers provide many learning opportunities for children ages three to eight years of age. Coloring programs, learning shapes and colors, interactive stories, as well as science and history sites are just a few of the programs these computers offer. They are so easy to use most children can operate them with little or no adult supervision.
