The annual meeting is held each October, at which officers are elected.

When do "The Friends" meet?

The Friends annual meeting is October 12, 2016 at 7 pm.

What do "The Friends" do?

1. Organization of activities and updating memberships at the annual meeting each October.
2. Sponsoring used book sales and other fundraising activities throughout the year.
3. Sponsoring the Booked-with-Friends monthly program series throughout each year.  The programs bring exciting and interesting topics to the public.
4. Sponsoring the Library's annual "Candlelight Reception," scheduled each year the Monday after Thanksgiving. The guests are provided with wonderful entertainment, delicious hors d'oeuvres, and the chance to mingle among friends and the community of Belding.
5. "The Friends" fund raising events and dues have made it possible for the Library to purchase items such as:
~ computers and children's reading software
~ tables and chairs for the clubroom
~ book carts, shelving units, display racks
~ bean bags in the Children's area

What do "The Friends" need?

For the organization to remain successful in the coming years, we need support! Many members give their support with dues only, and the contribution is so greatly appreciated! Others want to take an active part in the various activities and programs.

The idea is, you can choose how involved you want to be upon joining. The Library and "The Friends" appreciate any form of support given. There is always a constant satisfaction that as a "Friend" you are part of a group that is continually supporting and always improving one of the community's greatest assets, the Alvah N. Belding Library.
