"If none of us ever read a book that was 'dangerous,' had a friend who was 'different' or joined an organization that advocated 'change,' we would all be just the kind of people Joe McCarthy wants. Whose fault is that? Not really [McCarthy's]. He didn't create this situation of fear. He merely exploited it, and rather successfully."

Change in Schedule of Library Hours Effective July 1, 2010

Director's Message

Library Director Toni Jagger

Due to recent decreases in state aid and other library funding sources, the Alvah N. Belding Library Board of Trustees has been forced to reduce staff hours and, effective July 1, will reduce public service hours.  The mission of the Belding Library is to provide quality service to Belding area residents and, in keeping with that mission, the library will continue a schedule of hours, Monday through Saturday (Monday through Friday during the summer).  The library will be open on Thursday, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. instead of 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. All other hours remain the same.  The Library Board regrets the need for this change.
